Microchipping and registry office

 MICROCHIPPING AND DOG REGISTRY

According to Regional Laws 43/85, 90/98 and 41/02, a dog registry office has been established in every municipality. All owners and holders of dogs in any capacity must register them in the dog registry office by the animal's 60th day of life (or within 15 days of taking possession).

The identification of dogs entered in the Canine Registry is carried out by inoculating a microchip in the left region of the neck.

Unlike the old tattoo, the microchip does not deteriorate over time.

The microchip does not cause any adverse reactions, remains in place, unchanged, for the dog's entire life, and can be read using a special instrument, the microchip reader, which is simply placed near the inoculation area.

Microchipping is very simple and does not cause pain for the dog .

For registration in the dog registry and inoculation of the microchip, the dog must be accompanied by its legal owner, who must present the following documents:

  • Valid dog owner's identity card.
  • The dog's owner's tax identification card.
  • Dog vaccination booklet.

Registration is from Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
